Opening Analysis - pseudo-Trompowsky
Here
I give some analysis for the pseudo-Trompowsky 1.d4 d5 2.Bg5.
This is an opening which will often be played by a Trompowsky (1.d4
Nf6 2.Bg5) player.
At one time this opening was not considered as a serious variation
at higher levels of play. But with people like Julian Hodgson
bashing up people with this and the Trompowsky, it has gained in
popularity.
It is still a relatively new opening with lots of theory still to be
discovered. At club level it is an excellent opening to play as many
club players will find it difficult to play against, as most of
their previous d-pawn studies will be against openings such as the
queen's gambit.
