Non-variant matches

Pairs of colours which do not exhibit metamerism and which match in all lights must have identical spectral reflectance curves and are said to be 'non-variant'. The term 'non-metameric' which was once used is rapidly falling into disuse although the equally logical suggestion that 'variant-match' should replace the rather mis-applied word 'metamerism' has not been generally accepted.
